The world is full of amazing families. And sometimes, being a photographer gives me the opportunity to get to know another one!

Complete. Finished. Official. Final.
The adoption process does not end with the birth of your baby. And it does not end when you bring that baby home. The legal process does not come to an end until a finalization hearing, which typically happens in the six to eight months after the baby is home. It’s the official end to the paperwork and the home visits. It’s the day the state officially recognizes what you’ve known since the moment you met your son or daughter – they are a part of your family.
Finalization is the end of the road to adoption. And I imagine it’s the day you breathe a sigh of relief. It is finished.
Rejoicing in your finalization Isaiah!

Big brother has a love for science and an extraordinary imagination. Little sister has a mind of her own and a head full of curls. Both are smart and silly and prone to giggles. I’ve had the pleasure of getting to know this family for over five years. They have shown me what it looks like to be good neighbors and they have become good friends. So thankful for you Barringer fam!

The Harrisons are preparing to make a big move back to their home state of Iowa. But before they go, they wanted to get some family pictures in the only town their daughters have ever called home. It was special to capture these photos for them as they prepare to say good-bye to the Queen City.

If you know the Fritz family, you know what a gift they are. While their story is turning out differently than they ever thought it would, they are navigating the journey with grace and joy. To know this family is to love this family. I have been encouraged and inspired by their trust in God as they have grown their family through adoption. Baby Dree’s arrival in early August brings the headcount to five, with the girls outnumbering the boys. What a beautiful group!

His mom called to tell me he had arrived. But I didn’t know he was being expected! This little guy, like each new life, is a miracle. And he makes these friends a family of four.

To be invited into a home where there’s a new baby is to tread on sacred ground. I’m grateful to the families who invite me in and trust me to capture their little ones.
These precious friends of mine have a precious addition to their family. Welcome Edie!

Introducing sweet little miss Maggie McClain.

Being brave with our stories invites others to share their stories too. These friends have been brave with their story of infertility and loss. They have wrestled with all the questions that come from the wait. But only God knows why we are made to wait. And only He knows who we are waiting for. It turns out that Mike and Lois were waiting for Isaiah. The call came, they said yes, and now they are all home. Welcome Isaiah!
