Adopt a Block

The Charlotte Mecklenburg Dream Center exists to give hope to the hopeless by engaging forgotten communities and joining their hands with the body of Christ across Charlotte.

One of the outreach ministries of the Dream Center is Adopt-A-Block. Every Saturday, a volunteer team visits the J.T. Williams community to serve the people in the neighborhood. Relationships are being built and the gospel is being shared. In honor of the ministry’s one year anniversary, the Dream Center team threw a massive block party. Children were invited to participate in games and crafts, free hair cuts were given by a local hairdresser, and everyone was treated to a feast prepared by Chef Jim Noble.

Asher

So much of the heartbreak in my story can also be found in theirs. It’s one of the reasons I feel such an affection for them. Our friendship is new but feels seasoned. And receiving the news that they were headed to meet their son made my heart explode. Welcome home Asher. We’re so thrilled to have you here!

Jennifer and Jason

“All of these lines across my face, Tell you the story of who I am

So many stories of where I’ve been, And how I got to where I am

But these stories don’t mean anything, When you’ve got no one to tell them to

It’s true… I was made for you”

-Brandi Carlisle

A new chapter is beginning in the story of Jennifer and Jason.  And it begins on the day their two families become one.
