“The more that you read, the more things you will know.
The more that you learn, the more places you’ll go.”
– Dr. Seuss
capturing life one image at a time
This sweet girl is one I have wanted to photograph long before she was ever here. She has been prayed for by an army of friends and family for years. And her December 16th arrival was a glorious day. I’m so excited for my friends who get to be her parents.
It is my pleasure to introduce you to Miss Dorothy Rae Teppig.
There is so much joy on both of their faces in this next picture. Please get a good look at Dorothy’s little dimples. I can hardly stand it.
Michael and I spent the Christmas holiday with his family. It was a time of rest and refreshments, music and movies, gifts and giggles. We ate big meals and drank strong coffee, and enjoyed just being together. This may be our last Christmas for awhile to spend with this little lady, and she was the main attraction for sure…
A longheld tradition for the Baughmans is singing carols on Christmas Eve.
And what may need to become a new tradition is eating lots of meat… Brazilian style!
Sarah and Joe are raising three boys. Their world of climbing trees and building forts is totally foreign to me. I grew up in a house full of women. My three sisters and I wore dresses and hair bows and collected Barbies. It was a world of painted fingernails and ballet slippers where our prized possession was a two-story dollhouse.
One rainy morning in December I got a taste of what it’s like to be in a house full of boys. This family makes it look like a lot of fun.
When we had finished shooting pictures, the boys were treated to eggnog and waffles. When Sarah told them they could make whipped cream to go on top, I decided this breakfast had to be photographed. They were kind enough to let me stick around, and I’m so glad I did because these are some of my favorite pictures of my time with the Pays.
Life with two young girls is busy. Schedules are full and the days fly by. We had a quick window of time between the end of the school day and the winter sun’s early departure. In a short photo session, I got a pretty big picture of how sweet and silly and smart these two sisters are.
These two are a testament to the hard work their mama has done to raise them well.
I’m always so thankful for families who allow me to spend time with them.
There are times that the Lord answers prayers quickly. And times when his answer is “no”. But then there are times when, after years of bringing him a request, God answers and reveals that fulfilling your heart’s desire has been part of his plan all along. His plan for Kristen and Bill is to grow their family, and in December they will finally welcome a baby girl into the world.
Kristen has made a career out of caring for children. She is going to be an absolutely amazing mama.
At almost seven months into her pregnancy, Eden is absolutely glowing. She is expecting her first child who is due to arrive in January. Baby T, as he is affectionally being called, is the answer to many prayers over many months. This baby is a sweet reminder that the Lord loves to give blessings to his sons and daughters.
On a beautiful fall day, Eden’s friends and family gathered to celebrate her growing baby as well as her love for reading.
I hope that her son inherits her love for books.
We love you Eden and can’t wait to meet Baby T!
One of the many blessings of my marriage is the family I married into. They love well and live life to the fullest. They show me what it means to live by faith. And I know Jesus more deeply for knowing this family.
Last weekend we gathered to celebrate Talia’s first birthday. The presents were piled high, but no amount of brightly wrapped packages could ever compare with the gift of family she has been given.
Can I just say that I have one of the cutest nieces anybody could ask for?
In just one year, she has developed an obvious love for music.
Birthdays are so much better with cake. Her momma worked into the wee hours of the night to make sure Talia had the perfect one.
Talia – may you always know the love of your family and the deep love of our heavenly Father.
The Lord your God is with you,
the Mighty Warrior who saves.
He will take great delight in you;
in his love he will no longer rebuke you,
but will rejoice over you with singing. ~ Zephaniah 3:17
